Today I'm going to do my post on Goop, since delivery is just around the corner and I'm a little lost.
The most complicated part of the project for me is the design part, probably because I have no background on this and therefore it costs more ... Just to remember, my project for this course is a collaboration between Goop and Hoss Intropia for designing a dress. At first I thought to make several dresses but talking to Ewa I realized that all I was going to do with this is to complicate even more. So in the end I will do only two dresses, one day and one night dress and each one will be available in several colors and in two cuts in order to meet all customers'likes.
Tomorrow I will begin to think more about the design but my initial idea was to do it like a dress from last season which I think it was one of best-sellers. I also think that this dress perfectly fits with Goop customer and personally I love it!

Inspiration for LV&NIKE
Today I have been working on the part of the inspiration for the piloxing kit that I'm designing through the collaboration between LV and Nike.
For designing my Kit, in terms of colors and shapes for the clothing, I have been inspired by the 60s (shapes and colors) and the art style of that decade, the Pop art, and especially, Andy Warhol.
In my report I have divided it in three parts:
1. 60s and pop art
2. 60s and pop art at this year catwalks
3. 60s and pop art at Louis Vuitton and Nike
I think that this is the best way to explain my inspiration because is like where does it comes from (origins), then if you can see it today somewhere (catwalks) and third if it fits with the chosen brands. About the fit with the brands, in my opinion you cannot design a product that it's gonna break the DNI of the brand. So, I searched for pop art inspired products that LV or Nike have done, and this is what I found:

It seems that it fits! Both brands have some pop art inspired designs and specially Louis Vuitton at the time of Marc Jacobs. I the Louis Vuitton book is said that Marc Jacobs, togetuher with Louis Vuitton, has invented Pop Culture Luxury"

Nike and LV
In addition, this weekend I have been working in the product collaboration between LV&Nike, but I wanted to do a different blog entry to talk about this topic.
My sketch book is almost done, I only need to add some pics that Massimo told me last week it would be a good idea to.
This weekend I have been working specially on the power point presentation that explains through words and visuals how I get to this sport and product idea, and finally how the idea looks like (product design). For now I think I'm on the right track. I have started an original power point that exactly express what and how was the thinking process that guided me to develope this product. It is a project that requires a lot of time, but I will manage to do it! Let's see how I continue with it this following week!

Coach Inc.
This weekend I haven been working in Coach case analysis. The purpose of the essay is to identify the marketing channels that Coach is using in France and see potential problems threatening those channels. The brand entered the French Market through a partership with Printemps department store three years ago and still has not manage to be known among this market.
The two main problems that Coach has in France is a low brand awareness and a poor communication strategy.
This has been a summary of the analysis that I have made to the case. Then, base on the analysis we were suppose to give some recommendations to the brand in terms of a retail and communication strategy. The first and main solution that I have given is that Coach opens a pop up store in Paris. This action would be a retail strategy in terms that Coach will open this pop up during one year in order to study this market and adapt their product to them. Besides, the pop up will also be a communication strategy as it would be inaugurated by an event and it would be a good mean to fully communicate the brand's values to the French Consumer, as it looks like they haven't understood the brand's values yet.
Here are some pics of Coach's corner store at Printemps Haussmann in Paris

POS done!
Today is a good day...we hanged out Pringle Of Scotland project! It has been a hard morning because we have been reviewing the project again and again just to make sure that eveything was perfect! then we printed it out and that's it! For this project we had to do a self refelction part. Doing this self refelection has helped me to see what were my strenghs and weaknesses when doing the project and working in a group, and how did I dealed with them. The process of
studying and understanding POS, as well as the target market, to develop the
right marketing strategy was challenging. However, teamwork has been very
helpful as each member was good at something, and specialization of each one in
one area has helped us to fully understand all parts of the project. We have
been able work on a team with ease and comfort. Despite some minor problems, we
learned how to deal with them by listening to all members and at the end we
were able to reach a unanimous solution. We were all equally important within
the group, and the key was being honest, listen, and help each other.
Besides, this morning we had Net-a- Porter. What I liked the most was the one year intership that they offer in any area of the company (marketing, PR, Sales...). I think it would be a great opportunity to do this intership, however for this next year we can't as we have the three months placement and then the dissertation, but it's never too late to do an intership in a company such as Net-a- Porter!
By the way, this weekend is gonna be all about Massimo's project and Coach essay, so my next entries in the blog will be about how I'm progressing with these two projects; hope they will go well!

Almost done with Pringle
We are finally nearing the end!
Today it has been a Pringle of Scotland day focus. We have to hang out the project by Thursday so we are almos done with it. Today in Nicola's class we did a MOC presentation for the project. Actually I think that our was good. We just need some type of consistency in the whole project, so to writte down some things that allow us to link one part with the next one. After class I met with my group to go all aver the project, writte down some things that we were missing, correct the grammar and cut it down! At the begining we had 6,000 words but then we managed to get to 4,000, so finally it was good! We also did apendix and referecing, it is not completely finished but we will meet again tomorrow afternoon to turtinin it for the second time and just forget about it!
One project almost done! Feeling so happy about it =)

Fully concected home
Today I'm going to talk about a task that we have to present tomorrow for Ewa.
She wants us to find any future innovation that is comming in the luxury field.
I went into The Telegrapgh website and I found a very interesting article: "First signs of the fully conected home? (http://www.telegraph.co.uk/luxury/technology/13258/first-signs-of-the-fully-connected-home.html) Who could have imagined that this was going to happen! Intellegent home...we used to see this only u=in movies and I couldn't belief that one day it was going to become real, it's amazing!
The responsable of this: PANASONIC. They are showing demonstrations of this house. For instance one thing that it will have is that the Kitchen will suggest you recipes based on who is visiting your home, what they like and what is already in the kitchen. So, for instance, you go into the kitchen and say: "water, boiling", and you will be offer suggestions for the visitors that are comming for lunch.
Of course the article says that this will be only available in Luxury Homes as it requires specific fabrics in the building including sensitive speakers and microphones.
"How this is going to work?", we all ask, Panasonic knows how! Actually Panasonic has already all its devices (TVs, tablets, phones, washing machines, ...) connected to the same sort of grid. It will be a kind of communication between domestic appliances and the web. For instance, from your own phone, apart to conect it to your laptop, you will be able to control the heating, change TV chanel, or change the water temperature; doesn't sound awsome??
Now that I have read this article, I'm more interested on it, and I want to arrive the day when you can see some of these houses, but I will have to wait!
Let's see if tomorrow Ewa likes it!

Tough Weekend
As the tittle for my entry of today says: This weekend has been so tough!
Here is the proof, I haven't had time to writte my blog in the whole weekend and that's why I'm doing my entry now.
This weekend I have been focus on Massimo's project. I had to think about the inspiration for starting the design part. At the begining I was completely lost, but then inspiration came! The first thing that I think was that I want colors, vital and many colors...Andy Wharhol and his Pop art came to mi mind! The 60s, the decade when colors where introduce in Fashion! So I'm gonna base my project in the 60s, pop art and specially Andy Wharhol paintings. I'm gonna use some of his paintings to get the color palettes. Then for the silhouette inspiration for tops I'm gonna look at bikinis in the 60s and for bottoms, leggins lenght at that decade were weared above the ankle (Audrey Hepburn style), so I'm going to follow it. Besides, I love it! because then to combinate those above ankle leggins with nike training shoes ballerina type looks perfect!
Here are some pics of the paintings that I use to get the color palettes and silhouettes that inspire me for the design:

Burberry
Yesterday we had the pleasure of receiving in Marangoni the visit of a Burberry
representative. Her name was Julia and she work as Product Developer for the accesories
section.
It was not like the
typical talks in which they give you information about brand that everyone
already knows or you can find it on the website of the brand , in fact it was very
different. It helped me a lot, and I think most of the class as well, as we
talked about certain aspects that are very useful for our Goop project. In my
opinion, it clarified me many ideas.
For example, we talked about the critical path of Burberry, the timeline that they follow and the importance to meet the deadlines. In
addition, she spoke about the risks that may arise and affect the Critical
Path. All these was of great help for me because the critical path concept was
something where I was confused because
I didn’t understand it very well , but now that I have the Burberry Critical
Path as an example it is going to be easier. Logically, the Critical Path is not
going to be the same for Burberry and for my collaboration, but can serve as a
guide to make my Critical Path.
Besides, we talked about the different departments within
the brand, from the Creative Dedigner to
the Logistics department. The fact that these departments were all placed on a
pyramid doesn’t mean that some are more important than others, but that it is a
sequence, and certain departments have to act before others so that the product
reaches the final consumer. Likewise, she highlighted the importance of having
a good communication between all departments.
Finally, she explained us the importance that now has Corporate
Social Responsability within the company. She couldn’t give much detail
about this, but it was good that she mentioned it because Ewa has always given
a lot of importance to CSR in corporations. This is good since Hoss Intropia has
a strong commitment with CSR that has been present within the company since the
beginning in all the areas of activity of the brand including customer,
distribution, the environment, communities and society.
As you can see by what I have written, I liked a lot this
talk and it helped me a lot. Now it’s time to apply all the concepts I have
learned to my project. Let's do it!

Intense day
As the tittle itself says: today it has been an intense and hard working day.
We started with Nicola's class. In this class he wanted us to do a draft of the power point presentation for the Pringle of Scotland project. The information has to go in 6 slides only, so we have to be very precise and think well what are the relevant and key points from our report thar we need to talk about our recommended marketing strategy for Pringle of Scotland. I think that I haven't talked about this yet, so our recommended marketing strategy for targeting female teens (16-18 years old, UK based) is that the brand launch a difussion line of basic and timeless pieces that can be kept in a teen's wardrobe for a lifetime. With this marketing strategy we want to position Pringle according to the design (basic) and the price (premium brand). At the end, we arrived to one structure for the powepoint presentation that make sense. It was clear and includes all the key and relevants elemens that we need to explain our recommended marketing strategy for Pringle. Now that we have the draft, for the next class we will go through all the project again, correct the things that we have wrong, and edit the final version of the power point presentation. We are almost done with this project!
Then, we had Ewa's class. She was going one by one making indivial assesment on Goop's project with what we have so far. As I'm almost the last one on the list, she didn't have time to review mine, so today when I came back home I continued searching on trens for S/S 14 to have an idea of the product that I wanna make. Now I have put everything in my report: colors, textiles shapes and prints for dresses. I found the key shapes for dresses! This was perfect because now I just need to see which one of those dresses that are going to be on trend in S/S 14 better fits my collaboration customer. So, let's see what feedback she gives me tomorrow!
This is all for today, tomorrow more!

Saturday Reseacrh
Yesterday I didn't have time to do my third entry of last week, so let's do it now!
I'm gonna talk about the primary reseacrh that I did on Saturday for my two projects: Goop and the sport collaboration between Louis Vuitton and Nike.
First I went to the Nike store in Oxford Street, I loved it!, it is huge, well organize, personal assistants help you as much as they can, and they have life music with a DJ! I found a lot of useful information for my project:
- In the womenswear floor they have an exclusive section for performance. I asked one of the sales asistant for what was this clothing used for and he told me that for woman training sports such as Pilates, so it was perfect! This gave me a better idea of the fabrics that I have to use, and the key items to include in my clothing part of the Piloxing Kit.
- Then I also saw the type of people that were looking at this items, to get an idea of my consumer. I also took some pics of them
Secondly, I went to Hoss Intropia store in Regent Street for my Goop project. I spoke wih one of the sales assistant. She was Spanish and very nice. She gave me information about consumers, manufacturing and the collections. When I saw the collections I realized that probably tha one that I'm gonna use for my collaboration with Goop is the Miguel Palacio for Hoss Intropia Collection. It was so beautifull and it has some style of dresses similar to the ones that I want to develope for my collaboration. I took some pictures of this collection and also of the store to have an idea of the buying experience that they want to communicate with the store.
Finally I went with my friend Amgela to Mayfair to take some pictures of our potential customers for Goop and LV&Nike collaboration. We looked like paparazzis taking pictures of famous people hahaha. But actually we took a lot of pics and was very useful to have an idea in our minds of how our potential customer looks like.
This was all for that day, and enought!

Sunday, day of rest, but actually the day that I work the most! Today I'm gonna do three diferent entries based on things that I have done this week.
First one: Anil Arjandas. This name that gives the tittle for my entry is because a friend, my boyfriend and I went on Thursday to the inauguration of Anil Arjandas Jewellery in Mayfair! It was amazing! The reason why we went is that I know the owners. It is a family owned Jewellery and the first one, named "Magani", was open in my hometown in Spain, Zaragoza. Anil Arjandas is the son of the owners of Magani. He was working there, but he decided to take a further step and design his own design jewells. This result in his brand, named as he, Anil Arjandas Jewels (http://anilarjandas.com/arjandas2013/).
The inauguration was incredible. I had the opportunity to speak with the owners, told them my experience here, and they explained me the process of setting up in London. There was a small catering and a magician who was doing tricks for the guests. The jewels were beautiful, unique and some with very youthful designs.I loved it!
Here I leave some images that best visualized everything I saw. As it is said: a picture is worth a thousand words, in this case several!
